..Then we get hungry and thirsty. No matter what we’re doing or where we are.
We cannot separate our body and mind without fuel – healthy nutrients to live.. Simply because we are human beings.
In fact, making choices about WHAT, WHEN, HOW, and HOW MUCH we eat and drink can have a big impact on both physical and mental health.
..I’d say this can be the most valuable and crucial thing we do for our life to maintain a healthy and fulfilled life. Because “We are what we eat.” afterall.
You REALLY are what you eat! | Hether Crawford | TEDxAntioch
Nutrients from the foods we eat provide the foundation of the structure, function, and wholeness of every little cell in our body, from the skin and hair to the muscles, bones, digestive and immune systems.
So how do we make that choice and how do we eat RIGHT..?
First of all,
DO – Eliminate, as much as possible, all types of simple sugar from your diet.
DO – Avoid acid-forming foods such as red meat, dairy, cheese and egg products along with sugar and refined flour products. (They leave an acid residue in the body after they are metabolized, making the body itself more acidic and causing inflammation.)
DO – Eat more alkaline foods – all vegetables, most fruits (except plums, raisins, prunes), whole grains such as brown rice, oats, millet, buckwheat, bean sprouts, quinoa and many more.
DO – Intake more protein, fewer carbs.
DO – Try Herbal and Vitamin supplements. (consult your physician if you have conditions.)
DO – Pay attention to what you eat, when you eat, how and how much you eat. Be conscious.
DO – Your research. Less caffeine consumption. For the sake of your nervous system, too much caffeine consumption can keep you in chronically tense adrenaline output in your body and can cause anxiety and affect quality of sleep.
DO – Enjoy and be creative with food. Add a little joy 🙂 There are so many ways to cook healthy food and create your own recipes. Explore and experience eating. Cooking can be fun and a money saver method, also stimulating your brain as well.
..We can start with one small change.
Making one small change can become a habit and will eventually lead to one big lifestyle change. Trust the process 🙂 Happy eating!
