‘THOSE WHO ARE HAPPIEST, ARE THOSE WHO DO THE MOST FOR OTHERS.”

Booker T. Washington

A man once stood before God in prayer, his heart breaking from all the pain and seeming injustice in the world, and he said “Dear God, look at all the suffering!? You created this world. Why don’t you send help?” And God responded, “I did send help. I sent you!”

Maybe you’re thinking “What could any one of us possibly do that could help the world?” Well here’s a true story that may help you carve out a new perspective:

Once there was a woman who was in a fatal car accident. Despite being the driver of the vehicle, she was thrown into the back seat as the steel of the car crushed to half its original size. As the woman lay seriously injured and physically trapped in the back seat of the vehicle, her mental awareness was drastically heightened. She could feel and hear things going on around her that were not normally humanly possible. She felt the man in the car behind who was angered about the accident, grumbling and complaining that he would be late for his meeting. She could hear the panic of others in surrounding cars, and the hearts of the paramedics pumping quickly as they raced to the scene.

Then the woman felt something entirely different. There was a bright, soothing beam of Light coming from a lady in a distant car. She could intuitively hear and sense this lady was praying for her! The Light penetrated her entire being and filled her with a sense of peace and comfort that all would be alright.

As the traffic started to move, the woman felt the praying lady’s presence when her car was beside her and then pass her, and miraculously, in her mind’s eye, she could intuit the license plate of the car! Amazing!

Well, the injured woman did recover, and when she was well enough to return to her home, she found a way to track down the owner of that vehicle. They met over coffee and shared the experience. You can imagine what such an encounter would be like for these two women. Firstly, for the injured woman; what gratitude she would feel for receiving such a gift. And for the praying woman, what a feeling to learn first-hand the tangible impact of your prayer.

For me, hearing this story was a reminder that prayer is real; and it works. And this is how we can make a difference in the world, and diffuse some of the pain and suffering we see.

How do we do it?  If you’re a visual person, you can visualize Light coming from your forehead as you close your eyes to pray, and then imagine this Light encircling and filling each cell of the person for whom you’re praying. I do this daily for my family members, friends and for everyone on my spa team. You don’t need to be a trained healer to do this kind of work.  It simply works with your intention.  We are all gifted with the ability to pray. And usually it is the simplest, most sincere and humble prayer that can have the greatest impact.

Prayer is a way we can serve others, and serve humanity. The silver lining is that as we pray for others, we ourselves become saturated with that Light. And with that Light, we attract all that we seek as well; love, abundance and happiness. Prayer is a true example that when we give, we receive as a result.

So the next time you see pain and suffering in another or you feel yourself becoming dragged down from the seeming injustices of the world, remember God did send help, he sent you!”

“MOST MEN CONSIDER THE COURSE OF EVENTS AS NATURAL AND INEVITABLE. THEY LITTLE KNOW WHAT RADICAL CHANGES ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH PRAYER”.
