THE ROCKING CHAIR
The mind is such a thing that it tends to go to the negative. Given the unprecidentited times we are expeiriencing currently, these negative tendancies may come quicker than during more normal times.
Why is that? Let’s have a look.
When things are great in your relationship, you don’t dwell on it. Because it’s not the squeaky wheel.
When things are good at work, again, your thoughts don’t dwell on it, because all is well.
But when something goes wrong….boom….your thoughts instantly have a home. You mull it over, and think of every possible negative outcome. And oddly we wonder why things get worse.
It’s called WORRY and here’s how I see it.
Worry is like a rocking chair. Creates a lot of movement, but you don’t get very far.
Not only that, remember that whatever you put your attention on, manifests and builds. It becomes your driving force of intention. Who wants Worry in your driver seat.
So right now, shove Worry into the back seat and get off your rocking chair. Changing your context in challenging times is possible. Here is a quick fix we all need to use so that we can find ways to add value and stop wasting our time focusing on what might happen.
- Think of three things that are “working” in your life, and feel gratitude for those. Immediately, the energy you’re projecting has changed and you make room for possibilities that you can create in your life and the lives of those in your community.
