How to rewire your mind to manifest what you really want

by Elisabeth Fayt

An old friend reconnected with me recently, and while catching up, he shared some heavy news: after 30 years with his company, he had been let go.

What struck me most wasn’t just the news itself, but his reaction. “Elisabeth, it was only a matter of time,” he admitted. “I’ve been complaining about my job and the company for years. I knew it would catch up with me.”

I listened with quiet sympathy, but in that moment, the truth was undeniable: this was the Law of Attraction in plain sight.

What you complain about, you risk losing. It really is that simple.

In my own life, and after decades of counseling people, I’ve seen this pattern play out time and time again. When you consistently pour negative energy into your spouse, your job or your circumstances, those very things begin to slip away—or the situations deteriorate further. That is simply how the energy of attraction works.

The Good News: You Hold the Remote

The beautiful flip side? You can change your frequency in an instant.

What you think about, you bring about. To invite abundance, prosperity and joy into your life, your mindset must align with them. As I wrote in my book, Paving It Forward:

All day long you are intending, and what you intend, you create. You intend with your thoughts!

People often ask me: “But Elisabeth, isn’t it healthy to vent?”

Here is the truth: Anything you speak into existence, focus on or give energy to—especially with the high-octane emotion that comes with venting—accelerates its path into your physical reality. Venting isn’t a harmless release; it’s an active order to the universe for more of the same.

How to Interrupt the Spiral

So, what should you do when the urge to vent takes over?

Stop. Become aware of your mindset. Then pivot, by naming three things you are grateful for right now.

This simple 3-step shift acts as an immediate circuit breaker for your thoughts.

Having a negative thought doesn’t mean you’ve failed. Think of negative thoughts like birds flying overhead: you might notice them pass by, but you certainly wouldn’t invite one to land on your head and build a nest!

If you catch yourself slipping into criticism or a full-blown vent session, don’t waste energy beating yourself up. Just pick yourself up and pivot immediately. A strongly affirmed positive thought is 100 times more powerful than a negative one. It neutralizes the low vibration and immediately begins magnetizing what you actually desire.

The Power of the Gratitude Ritual

Gratitude is the fastest, most effective way to pull yourself out of a mental slump.

I was recently re-reading The Magic by Rhonda Byrne (creator of The Secret) which inspired me to revive a favorite habit: writing down 10 things I am grateful for—and why—every single morning. I bought a beautiful new journal and a special pen just to make the process feel like a daily celebration. The shift in my energy has been profound.

As the seasons change, use this Thanksgiving as your moment to transform your internal landscape. Dust off an old notebook or treat yourself to a fresh journal, and establish your own daily practice of appreciation.

Give yourself this gift, observe how your reality begins to reshape itself, and enjoy every single moment of the transformation.

Wishing you a joyful Thanksgiving filled with warmth, clarity, and endless abundance!

Yours in wellness,
